The Library is situated on the second floor of the Aulario, a modern building in Santa Maria Capua Vetere (CE) where the Department’s administrative offices and classrooms are located.
The DILBEC Library has a wealth of about 27,000 volumes, periodicals, and specialized journals (past and present), dictionaries and encyclopedias regarding all Humanities sectors. Among the many services, the Library especially provides an "open shelf ” consultation service, borrowing, document delivery – article recovery, photocopying facilities, and other bibliographic services and information.
Computer stations located in the Library allow direct access to the University Catalogue Sebina/OPAC and to other electronic resources of the University . A highly efficient Wi-fi service is also available on the Library’s premises.

Services
a) Reference service
The library provides its customers with information, and educational support services, the purpose of which is to ensure a more functional use of the Library’s resources and tools, thus favoring a more autonomous individual experience.
b) Consultation
Consultation of the Library’s large bibliographical heritage is free for all users. The catalog search can be carried out by using the University OPAC system (also available from the computer workstations).
c) Reading
The search for texts is carried out by connecting to the SEBINA OPAC system. It is necessary to note that the relocation of the text to the appropriate shelf (in the library stall), where possible, must be carried out by the user. If a volume is already being read, a second copy can be obtained (if available). It is possible to request staff assistance services for the relocation of volumes or bibliographic information. In both of these cases, users are asked to fill out a special request form to be handed in to the staff on duty.
d) Book Loan

e) Photocopies
There is a photocopying service in the library. Upon identity verification, users may obtain for personal use only copies of original works in accordance with Law (L. 18 Agosto 2000, n. 248, New regulations for for the protection of copyright. [published in the Official Gazette no. 206, dated September 2000]). The copying material cannot exceed 15% of the original work, excluding advertising pages. Copying must be carried out by avoiding damage or alteration of the state of conservation of the material.
f) Desiderata
The Library offers users the opportunity to report any purchase proposals relating to monographic and periodical publication.
g) Document Delivery – Article Recovery
The Library offers teachers, researchers, and PhD students the possibility of recovering articles owned by other libraries. To this end, the Library is a member of the NILDE association (Network Inter-library Document Exchange), a project promoted by CNR of Bologna that encourages cooperation between Italian and foreign libraries.

The service allows users to check which monographs and periodicals that are located at the Library of the Department of DILBEC, as well as those located at other University libraries.
Electronic Resources - Online databases
Access is guaranteed by recognizing the IP address relating to the University network + any password; access is also possible by connecting to the University WiFi network.
